MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous Distribution Centre experience will be an added advantage 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Time Management Skills
• Problem-solving ability
• Knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution Centre’s operations highly advantageous

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
POSITION OVERVIEW

The General worker is responsible for offloading incoming merchandise from delivery vehicles and transporting stock to store in designated warehouse positions. It is the General Workers responsibility to keep the work environment clean and tidy at all times, and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reporting for duty on time.
• Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment
• Offloading delivery vehicles
• Accepting delivery of merchandise 
• Counting and confirming merchandise
• Inspecting merchandise for damage, faults and shortages
• Communicating shortages and damages to the Quality Checker on site 
• Storing merchandise in an accessible manner
